1. How does CRE send their streaming signal?
CRE streams at a rate of 32 kilobits per second.
2. Do I need a high-speed Internet connection to listen to CRE streams?
Most dial-up modem Internet connections should be able to sustain the download speed necessary to provide uninterrupted playback of the CRE streams.
3. Do I need RealPlayer to listen to CRE streams? Where can I get it?
Yes. RealPlayer is the only media player that will allow you to listen to CRE streams. Even though you might have RealPlayer already installed on your computer, in order to listen to CRE streams you might have to re-download and re-install RealPlayer. To download the most recent version of the FREE RealPlayer for your operating system, please click here.
4. Can I send the stream from my computer to my stereo?
Yes, you have two options. You can run a physical wire from your computer to your stereo system. And now, there are also wireless components that can connect your computer to your stereo receiver/amplifier. Please check your local computer store to find the solution that works best for you.
5. When I click the "Listen Now" button, nothing happens.
First, make sure that RealPlayer is installed on your computer. If it isn’t, you can download it FREE by clicking here.
With RealPlayer installed, try quitting and restarting your browser. Then, click the "Audio Streaming" link on our home page again. If nothing continues to happen, your browser may not be able to automatically opening up RealPlayer (via an installed plug-in). In this case, we suggest using a current version of Internet Explorer.
6. When I click the "Listen Now" button, I get a "Page Cannot Be Displayed" error.
This is caused by another application on your computer not allowing RealPlayer to play the link. You have two choices:
A) Copy-and-Paste rtsp://chicagoradiowimax.com/encoder/wimax.rm directly into the "File --> Open" location of your Windows Media Player.
B) Select RealPlayer as your default media player and then click the "Audio Streaming " link on our home page again.
